CheerABILITIES and DanceABILITIES Teams to Compete for World Titles Beginning in 2027
The U.S. All Star Federation (USASF) announced on October 14, 2026, that CheerABILITIES and DanceABILITIES teams from the United States will officially be eligible to compete for world championship titles at The Cheerleading Worlds and The Dance Worlds beginning in April 2027.
Previously, these teams participated in the Exceptional Athlete International Championship (EAIC), which was held alongside Worlds but operated as a separate event. The new divisions will provide eligible teams with the opportunity to earn bids and compete for official Worlds titles.
While CheerABILITIES teams have previously competed at major championships such as The Summit and The D2 Summit, this expansion represents a new level of recognition for Exceptional Athletes at one of All Star cheerleading's most prestigious competitive events. CheerABILITIES divisions also remain included in the 2027 Summit championship schedule.
According to USASF, eligible U.S. CheerABILITIES Elite teams can qualify for Worlds through a video submission process, with up to five teams receiving At-Large bids. Additional eligibility requirements and qualification information are available through the Cheerleading Worlds website.
This announcement marks an important milestone for inclusion and recognition in competitive cheerleading and dance. By incorporating Exceptional Athlete divisions into Worlds, the change recognizes the athleticism, dedication, and competitive achievements of athletes who have long been part of the All Star community.
It also reflects a broader conversation about accessibility, representation, and whose athletic accomplishments receive recognition on the sport's biggest stages.
